Barbara Drexler and Khun Sidhorn at Peace Corps Office

Khun Sidhorn who was one of our language teachers continued to work off and on with the Peace Corps for many years after. She was one of the pillars of the education program when I served as Country Director. When I was in Thailand from 1987 to 1990, many from our group came to visit. The Drexlers were in Chiengmai for awhile, and we had lots of fun in our new life in Thailand. Also notice the Peace Corps office. This was once a palace down near the river, very elegant and not to be compared with the office of our era. I once went back down the soi to see what was left of what I remembered as a very modern building: it basically deteriorated due to neglect, but was still there as of 1990.
